Costas Makris was born in Nicosia. He graduated from the Kykkos A’ Lyceum. After his military service, he studied on scholarship at the Dental School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His love for dentistry was transferred by his father, who worked as a dentist for many years. After completing his studies, he worked with his wife in a private practice, and in 2004 he moved his practice to Adamantio Dental Center, as one of its founding members.
He is among the first who applied and believed in using a computer in his practice and he contributed to the creation of dental program software. He deals with the whole spectrum of dentistry, especially with prosthetic restorations and with new digital systems for manufacture of direct ceramic restorations.
He is constantly updated on developments in dental science attending conferences, both in Cyprus and abroad. In his free time, he likes to play chess, passing on his love and knowledge of the sport to high school students, whom he teaches.
